Quilters on Grand upcoming events

May 7th will be a prep class for 2 hours

All patterns available at Brewers, Checkers, & Sun Valley Quilts.

Back of pattern will list needed supplies that are also available at the above places.

Have you ever wanted to make a By Annie Bag but were intimidated or just found the instructions too much to get through? We can tackle it in my 2 day class. On April 2nd, I will have a two hour prep class so you can get yourself ready to sew on the 14th. Pick a pattern (not a backpack) of your choice and lets get started.

Woven Table Runner (Tue, May 26, 2026)

A fascinating combination of weaving and sewing! Tubes of fabric are woven in the classic tumbling block pattern without ever having to sew a "Y" seam. No piecing or quilting is required. And, it is completely reversible so you may choose to use a different border fabric on each side to make two different looks.

Level of Difficulty: Confident beginner

Supplies needed:

Dark fabric: 1 1/8 yard

Medium Fabric: 1 1/8 yard

Light Fabric: 7/8 yard

Border: 1/2 yard each of two fabrics

Fusible Batting: 10" x 60"

Piece of flannel, felt or other sturdy fabric measugint at least 18 x 46" - this will not be part of the finished project.

Your favorite tube turning tool ( we have a couple at the club that can be used).

Permanent and erasable marking pens,

Sewing machine in good working order and normal sewing supplies.

Room Cleanup (Fri, May 29, 2026)

We’d like to restore the practice of cleaning our room on months that have a fifth Friday. As you know, maintenance only takes out the trash and sweeps the floor. Any deeper cleaning is on us. The next cleaning is scheduled for May 29 after lunch. We will clean the refrigerator, wipe down cupboards, tables, chairs, etc., and any other nook or cranny where dirt and dust accumulates. We can’t potluck, but I can promise chocolate of some kind. Brownies? Ice cream sandwiches? Let us know in the comments. Many hands make light work! We will have a signup sheet in the room. Take pride in our room, our artistry, and our awesomeness!

This is a beginner -level project form Patch Abilities, Inc. includes detailed instructions and material lists for crafting. The design is perfect for adding a festive touch to any setting, with a skill level suitable for those new to quilting or embroidery.

Supply List:

Wave It pattern (available at Checkers)

Materials needed:

1/6 yard light background. 1/8 yard red and white stripe for binding - scraps: 5" x 6" blue (flag), 5" x 5" gold (star), 5" x 17" red (stripes), 7" x 22" strips of backing fabric, 7" x 22: scrap of thin batting, fusible webbing. Hanger option: 6" fireworks hanger (cover thumbprint)
